You are provided with a unique User Name and Password to the e-learning portal, which enables access to the interactive Guides; including the Learner Guide and the Assessments. Training Momentum have developed live  Trainer facilitated online workshops, where groups of remote students are invited to meet, discuss their knowledge, confirm understanding, clarify assessment taskss and complete group practical activities that contribute direct to the assessments.

Training Momentum Pty Ltd deliver and assess this course (in partnership with Healthy Business Training Academy, RTO #30831). 

You will be enrolled directly with HBTA and they will issue your certificate upon successful completion of your course.

Classroom Delivery

Study in a face to face classroom environment; supported by our Trainer and Assessor, Learner Guide, Assessment Guide; Practical Activities and Class Discussion. Partial completion of Assessment Guides can be achieved in class time with balance of Assessments completed in your own time.

We offer a range of one - three (1-3) day classroom courses covering individual and in some cases multiple units to support your learning and practical assessment activity requirements. Our interactive classroom courses are fun and engaging, allowing you to develop your knowledge and practice the skills required for each unit, whilst contributing directly to your assessment port folio.

Time Commitment 

Nominal minimum hours of study plus individual research and on the job application is 600 - 2,400 hours (normally over a period of 6-24 months); OR approximately 10 hours research and study per week (face-to-face/online) for 6 months from commencement.  During the balance of the time, learners will be engaged in work-based/simulated work-based (portfolio building) activities and assessments.

The qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a broad knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and may include coordinators, advisors and facilitators.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others.  They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.

They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

Career Opportunities/Vocational Outcomes

This qualification is suitable for people working in a Work Health and Safety (WHS) role who work to provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others; i.e. WHS Coordinator or WHS Officer.

Course Structure

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety requires the completion of ten (10) units, consisting of five (5) core units and five (5) electives.

5 Core Units:

BSBWHS412 Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
BSBWHS413 Contribute to implementation and maintainence of WHS consultation and participation processes
BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response

Elective Choices:

3 units must be from Group A listed in the Packaging Rules
2 units may be from Group A, Group B units listed in the Packaging Rules; or any endorsed Training Package or accredited course at the same qualification level;
1 elective unit may be selected from a Certificate III or Diploma from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
