Course Overview

This unit specifies the outcomes required to carry out work health and safety (WHS) requirements through safe work practices in all on- or off-site construction workplaces.

It requires the performance of work in a safe manner through awareness of risks and work requirements, and the planning and performance of safe work practices with concern for personal safety and the safety of others.

The unit covers fundamental WHS requirements necessary to undertake work tasks within any sector in the construction industry. It includes the identification of hazardous materials, including asbestos, and compliance with legislated work safety practices. It does not cover removal of asbestos, which is a licensed activity.

Course Content

This course is a pre-requisite for the unit CPCCCM2009 Carry out basic demolition.

The course includes training and information on:

Identify and assess risks
Identify hazardous materials and other hazards on work sites
Plan and prepare for safe work practices.

Apply safe work practices.

Delivery Location

This course may also be delivered on request on-site at clients location. Please note the appropriate equipment must be supplied by client.

Pre-Requisite Information

No pre-requisite learning is required.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a Statement of Attainment with the unit 'CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry'.

Training Momentum Pty Ltd deliver and assess this course under a third-party agreement with IPS Institute RTO #32186. IPS Institute will issue your certificate upon successful completion of your course.

Expiration

This is a nationally recognised unit of competency which does not expire however the industry recommendation is to complete a refresher course every 3 years.
