The Training

A Restricted Asbestos Licence (RAL) is required by law in Western Australia for the removal of materials that contain non-friable asbestos, also known as Bonded Asbestos or Class B Asbestos.

WorkSafe (WA) require the Restricted Asbestos Licence holder to attain 2 national units of competency, as a pre-requisite to applying for a Restricted Asbestos Removal Licence. Holding a current licence allows you to remove volumes exceeding 10m2 of bonded (non-friable) asbestos containing materials.

The training will equip you with knowledge that will help you to plan, Supervise, Manage and apply safe methods for removal of non-friable asbestos in Western Australia.

Upon completing this course, you are required to submit an application directly to WorkSafe WA to apply for your Licence. (see note and link below). 

Important Notes:

  1. WorkSafe WA licences require completion of an application form
  2. The application requires evidence of your qualifications AND your prior experience in asbestos removal
  3. An application fee applies. The application fee is in addition to this course fee
  4. Please visit the WorkSafe WA site and research the licence requirements prior to enrolling in the course
  5. Completion of the Training does NOT guarantee approval of a Licence by WorkSafe WA

CPCCDE3014 Remove non-friable asbestos
CPCCDE4008 Supervise asbestos removal
